The Long Road (Fiction)

The Long Road is something I’ve been playing around with. The story is fictitious. but the characters are based on real people. Five points if you can guess who. ‘We are in Kansas now‘ is the first installment. Enjoy.

    Who are they? 😛 *IsoKnowbutIdunnoface*

    Cheers!

  2. way to go with stretching your imaginations with the names dude! 😛 the names were funny (for those of who knew the real ppl) but also a bit of a distraction (sorry to imaab, jerru, himaw – nothing personal) but i guess if i didn’t know the real names at all it probably wouldn’t be so. but, i got into the story. and i love your narrative voice. but a small note – flesh out the characters and don’t let them just be inside jokes or witty caricatures of the real people. it’s tricky business writing fictitious characters based on real ones because for it to work as great fiction you need to be brutally honest to yourself and the characters but there’s always that little mental block or a kind of self-censorship about how far you’re going to go with them because you might feel answerable. that’s just my two cents. looking forward to reading the next chapter. 🙂

Thanks. And quite right bout the characters. I did start off as a bit of a joke. But grew into the story.

  3. ‘Tis good 🙂 but yeah, I agree with what WEBM, you might want to include details. Like for instance, we know what Queens is but some else reading it might not…

Can I post a spoiler and reveal what your name is? 😛

  4. Hold up… how come you’ve got a ‘reply’ thingy at the end of each comment on your blog and I don’t… 😕
